Rajasthan is India’s largest state, known as the “Land of Kings” for its royal history. Located in northern India, it is famous for its majestic forts and palaces, vibrant culture, and cuisine. Its capital and largest city is Jaipur, and the state is known for its colorful traditional clothing, folk music and dance, and crafts.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Jaipur

Arrive at Jaipur Airport/Railway Station and check into your hotel. Spend the evening shopping in the local bazaars of the “Pink City”.

Day 2: Jaipur Sightseeing

After breakfast, visit the majestic Amber Fort, ascending to the fortress (elephant or jeep rides are often available). In the evening, consider a traditional Rajasthani dinner with folk music and dance at a local resort like Chokhi Dhani.

Day 3: Jaipur to Jodhpur

After breakfast, drive to Jodhpur, the “Blue City” (approx. 6 hours drive). Check into your hotel and, if time permits, take a walk around the local market and the clock tower area.

Day 4: Jodhpur Sightseeing

Explore the magnificent Mehrangarh Fort, one of India’s largest forts, offering stunning views and a museum. Visit Jaswant Thada, a beautiful marble cenotaph nearby.

Day 5: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer

Drive to Jaisalmer, the “Golden City” (approx. 5 hours drive). En route, you can stop to visit the Jain Temple at Osian.

Day 6: Jaisalmer Fort & Desert Experience

After breakfast, explore the ancient, living Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Kila) and the intricately carved Havelis (mansions), such as Patwon Ki Haveli.

Day 7: Jaisalmer to Udaipur

After an early breakfast, check out and begin the long drive to Udaipur, the “City of Lakes” (approx. 7 hours drive). En route, visit the beautiful Ranakpur Jain Temples, known for their exquisite architecture.

Day 8: Udaipur Sightseeing & Departure

After breakfast, take a  sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Later, you will be transferred to the Udaipur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Arrive at Delhi International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Relax and acclimate to the local time.

Day 2: Delhi Sightseeing

Explore the capital’s rich history, visiting landmarks like the Red Fort, Jama Masjid, and Qutub Minar. In the evening, explore the bustling bazaars of Chandni Chowk.

Day 3: Travel to Mandawa/Shekhawati Region

Drive to Mandawa, known for its beautiful, frescoed Havelis (traditional merchant houses). Spend the afternoon exploring the town’s unique architecture.

Day 4: Mandawa to Bikaner

Continue to Bikaner, a medieval desert city. Visit the imposing Junagarh Fort and explore the old town in a tuk-tuk.

Day 5: Bikaner to Jaisalmer (The Golden City)

Travel through the Thar Desert to Jaisalmer. Settle in and explore the area around Gadisar Lake in the evening.

Day 6: Jaisalmer Fort & Desert Experience

Tour the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort (a living fort where people still reside), and explore the intricately carved Havelis like Patwon Ki Haveli. In the afternoon, head to the Sam Sand Dunes for a camel safari and a cultural evening with traditional music and dance.

Day 7: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur (The Blue City)

Drive to Jodhpur. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax before an evening stroll through the vibrant local market.

Day 8: Jodhpur Fort & Palace

Visit the colossal Mehrangarh Fort, perched high above the blue-painted houses. Also visit Jaswant Thada, a marble memorial, and the Umaid Bhawan Palace museum.

Day 9: Jodhpur to Udaipur via Ranakpur

En route to the “City of Lakes,” Udaipur, stop at Ranakpur to visit the stunning, intricately carved Jain Temples. Continue the journey through the scenic Aravalli Mountains.

Day 10: Udaipur Sightseeing

Enjoy a full day exploring Udaipur. Visit the grand City Palace complex, the Jagdish Temple, and the Sahelion Ki Bari (Courtyard of the Maidens). In the evening, take a serene boat trip on Lake Pichola.

Day 11: Udaipur to Pushkar

Drive to Pushkar, a holy city known for its sacred lake and the rare Brahma Temple. Explore the ghats of the lake and the bustling local markets.

Day 12: Pushkar to Jaipur (The Pink City)

Head to Jaipur, the vibrant capital of Rajasthan. In the evening, you could experience a traditional Rajasthani dinner at an ethnic village resort like Chokhi Dhani.

Day 13: Jaipur Forts & Palaces

Embark on a city tour, starting with a Jeep ride up to the historic Amer Fort. Capture a photo at the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds), visit the City Palace museum, and explore the ancient astronomical instruments at the Jantar Mantar Observatory.

Day 14: Jaipur to Delhi Departure

Depart from Jaipur for Delhi (approx. 4-5 hours drive) to catch your flight home, or extend your trip to include Agra to see the Taj Mahal.
